Based on a database of over 1,000 employees within the healthcare sector in Singapore, we discovered that healthcare workers in Singapore predominantly displayed an “SC” DISC style. The “SC” style is the ‘Peacemaker’ blend.
Peacemakers are kind and very detailed oriented. They naturally care about people and are very meticulous at completing their tasks. They tend to carefully think things through, weighing how a decision would affect people and require facts and figures before making a decision.
They prefer to work in small teams and tend to be loyal towards their leaders making them tend to be known as ‘the faithful ones’. As peacemakers, they aim for stability, support and accuracy and prefer calm environments, fixed objectives and steady progress. Their greatest fears are time pressure, uncertainty and chaos.
As leaders, you’ll find Peacemakers influencing others through negotiation and diplomacy, exhibiting consistency in their actions and often practising self-control. When in leadership roles, they tend to maintain their composure and are fair-minded.
The paper’s data was collected by Lifeskills Institute over five years across various healthcare establishments and work functions through an online validated behavioural assessment tool that has been used throughout the world for over 30 years. The analysis was based on DISC assessments which the workers had taken online. It is intended that with this research, leaders in the healthcare sector will learn how to better manage workers in the healthcare sector and perhaps initiate them to ponder over what needs to change, if needed, to be able to navigate the future state of healthcare in Singapore
